Closed session opens at NC's 15th general convention
Kathmandu, Oct 5: The closed-door session of the 15th National General Convention of the Nepali Congress has commenced.
The meeting of the NC central working committee held today passed the 'agenda' to be presented in the closed session, and discussions have started in various groups.
Discussions are being held in the closed session by dividing the delegates into three clusters. The closed session started by dividing into three clusters: Pahad (Hills), Himal (Mountain), and Madhes-Tarai. The Hills' session took place at the beginning. For the closed session, the Mountain Hall, Hills Hall, and Tarai-Madhes Hall have been designated.
In the Himal hall, 1,117 representatives from Koshi Province, 299 from Karnali Province, and 715 from Gandaki Province, totaling 2,331 representatives, are participating.
Likewise, in the Pahad hall, 1,217 representatives from Bagmati Province and 1,009 from Lumbini Province, totaling 2,226 representatives, are participating.
In the Tarai–Madhes hall, there are 1,256 representatives from Madhesh Province, 650 from Sudurpashchim Province, 245 from the Overseas Liaison Committee, and 225 from the party's sister organizations.
The Nepali Congress has stated that in the closed session, discussions will take place on the political report presented by party president Gagan Kumar Thapa, the constitution and party management proposals submitted by the General Secretary, and the contemporary proposals presented by the Vice-Chairperson.
