Foreign Minister Khanal leaves for UNGA
Kathmandu, Sept 20: A Nepali delegation led by Foreign Minister, Shisir Khanal, has left here for New York of the United States of America this evening to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Minister Khanal is scheduled to participate in various high-level meetings, side events and ministerial-level engagements. He will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and other dignitaries.
It may be noted that the official Nepali delegation to the 81st UNGA led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah will leave for New York on September 22. Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to address the General Debate of the session on September 24.
The Nepali delegation led by Prime Minister Shah will comprise the PM's Chief Advisor Kumar Byanjankar, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other senior officials of the government.
During his stay in New York, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.
Prime Minister Shah will return home on September 26 while Foreign Minister Khanal on September 29.
