Kathmandu, Jan 11: The Government of India has provided an assistance of approximately Rs 619.6 million to the Ministry of Irrigation to construct embankments on the Kamala, Bagmati and Lalbakaiya Rivers.
India's Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, today handed a cheque of this amount to Minister for Irrigation Deepak Giri amidst a programme at the Ministry. On the occasion, Minister Giri, highlighting on various dimensions surrounding the Nepal-India relations, praised the Indian assistance for river control works in Nepal.
Similarly, the Indian Ambassador pledged the continuation of the Indian support and assistance in Nepal's development endevours and efforts to control natural disasters including the water-induced ones in the days ahead. RSS
