Kathmandu, April 26 (RSS): Lack of knowledge on legal and constitutional issues among the media persons and the investors has resulted hassles and inconvenience in their respective business.
During a programme organized by the Society of Economic Journalists' Association (SEJON) here today, speakers argued that the investors and media persons' clear understanding on the policies and laws relating to energy sector could help hone their professionalism.
The Electricity Act, and Regulation, Electricity Regulation Authority Act, and Investment Board Act, among others were some important legal instruments in this sector.
A legal practitioner Narayan Chaulagain said little knowledge of such rules among media persons could result in disinformation and rumour.
Similarly, another legal practitioner Anup Raj Upreti said the awareness of hydropower and technical aspects were imperative to understanding energy sector.
SEJON Chairman Pushpa Raj Acharya however informed that the Association was providing training and orientation for the journalists working in the economic beat.
